Our Sanding Process
Our sanding process has been greatly improved upon and practised until perfected. Here is our simple modelled process for sanding the floor.
- Preplanning and assessment of the condition of the floor, i.e., evaluating if the floor incurred light or serious issues for a solid action plan.
- Implement the first part of the action plan with a coarse abrasive.- Light or relatively new flooring: 40-grit.
– Old floors that are badly discoloured, stained, and covered in paint: 24-grit.Note: one of the most important aspects of the sanding process is selecting compatible sandpaper to achieve a perfectly sanded floor. If the grits are misappropriated, expect a dire result. - Incrementally change grit sizes while cleaning the floor in between changes to avoid scratches.Ideal grit stages:- 40-grit to begin with
– 60-grit to apply next level
– 80-grit as the final touchNote: we are aware that mismatched grit sizes for raw granules and belt equipment may cause serious damage to the floor. This threat of fatal destruction is why we never skip the build-up process. We want to give the floor an outstanding appearance with utmost care. - The final stage of our sanding process would be called the “finishing touch.” This last step involves the application of organic solvents to give the floor a smooth texture. We can also provide additional polishing works if requested.
Our team is very serious about delivering this sanding model. However, there can be minor changes contingent on the adjustments required by your flooring.
